2. Along Jokla : A walk through and around the area that will be sunk by the Karahnjukar dam. We started by Tofrafoss (Töfrafoss) and walked to Studlagatt (Stuðlagátt) where Kringilsa merges into Jokla (Jökla). From there we walked by Jokla to Saudarfossa (Sauðárfossa).

3. The Waterfalls in Nordurdalur : Walk along the river Jokulsa a Fljotsdal (Jökulsá á Fljótsdal). This river will be put into tunnels and consequently the 15 waterfalls (and a lot of smaller rapids) will disappear because of the Karahnjukar dam construction project. Many people don't realize that this is a project of a few dams that will form 2 reservoirs in the area around Snæfell (big mountain in this area), the big Hálslon (57 km2) and Ufsarlon (1 km2). The river Jokulsa a Fljotsdal will form the later reservoir.

4. Going home : We stayed in Seydisfjordur for the night after the walk in Nordurdalur. The next morning we drove to Vik i Myrdal and stayed there for the night and got back home on Tuesday morning.
